The Dentatechnica is a speciality , in which is carrying out a medical – restoration technical activity.

In Bulgaria activity of dental technician is realizing in Self-independent medical – technical laboratories. For activity of a dental technician is necessary exceptional sense.

The skill is consisted of that denta-technical works to be manufacture precisely and exactly fitted, so that entire masticatory function to be again restored without this could feel. The denture construction must correspond to preventive , functional and aesthetically requirements.

To cope with multiple and different tasks, dental technicians must correspond to many physical and psychically requirements. The main precondition for this is a good training.

To have this we are needed clear rules – standards for quality of work, but mostly the willing and constantly improvement in profession conduct to qualitative and satisfying manufacture.

In Bulgaria the education of students of speciality “Dentatechnica” is with duration three years and is conducting in the Medical Colleges in Sofia , Varna and Plovdiv cities. The students is studying common medical, humanities and special disciplines – anatomy, physiology and biomechanics, masticatory organ, dental technical craftsmanship, appliance and instruments, sculpturing and moulding, teeth prothesising, orthodonty. These subjects give to students knowledge for future work as dental technicians.

The students are prepared in contemporary equipment on highly technical level training laboratories.

During the last term the students have a probation in the best dentatechnical laboratories, where they acquire as traditional as the most contemporary dental technology.

Who graduate speciality “Dentatechnica” receives higher college education and qualification degree “specialist” and professional qualification “dental technician” . The gained in college qualification gives to a dental technician to practice profession in dentatechical laboratories in Bulgaria and abroad.

In the Ordinance for after graduating education of Ministry of Health “dentatechnica” is not include, don't exist a way assured from our State for after graduating education and additional development for dental technician. Of course, dental technicians have found another way to improve they knowledge and experience. Some dental technicians and companies from Bulgaria and Europe are organizing and leading courses and seminaries, in which everyone can participate.
